Mission 16:24 is built on a clear and compelling calling from Scripture: “Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all peoples.” — 1 Chronicles 16:24
This verse captures the heartbeat of everything we are about. We believe God’s glory is meant to be known everywhere, by everyone—and we are committed to taking part in that mission.
We are the Helmick family—Mike, his wife Lucinda (Lu), and their two boys, Nehemiah and Ezekiel. Mike has spent over a decade in ministry as a youth pastor and senior pastor, developing a deep passion for teaching, discipleship, and helping people grow in their faith. Over time, God began to expand that passion beyond the local church and place a burden on our hearts for the nations.
That calling has led us to Japan.
Japan is a country full of rich culture and history, yet it remains one of the least reached nations with the Gospel. Many have never had the opportunity to hear about Jesus in a personal, relational way. Our desire is to step into that space—to build authentic relationships, serve faithfully, and share the hope of Christ in everyday life.
Mission 16:24 is more than a name—it’s a mission we believe belongs to all of us. We are not going alone. This work is made possible through a community of people who pray, give, and stand with us. Together, we are declaring His glory among the nations.
As we prepare to go, our prayer is simple: that God would use our lives to make His name known, and that many would come to experience His love and salvation.
Mission 16:24 is a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to proclaiming Christ and strengthening Gospel outreach in Japan.
